The completion rates use 1 year as the timeframe to completion and Fall only as the first attempt term, which are default options on the Transfer Level Gateway Completion Dashboard.
The transfer-level 1-year English completion rate has increased from 52% in 2016-17, when AB 705 was passed, to 68% in 2023-24. The transfer-level Math 1-year completion rate has increased from 27% to 62% over the same period.

In 2023-24, successful transfer-level English 1-year completion rates by students’ race/ethnicity were as follows: 81% for Asian students, 75% for White students, 63% for Hispanic students, and 59% for African American students. For the same year, successful transfer-level Math 1-year completion rates by students’ race/ethnicity were as follows: 79% for Asian students, 69% for White students, 55% for Hispanic students, and 49% for African American students.
